A man thought to be in his 40s suffered a gunshot wound Saturday evening, according to Tacoma police.

About 6 p.m., several people called 911 to report the shooting in the 1400 block of east 72nd Street near Portland Avenue East.

The wound was not considered life-threatening, Officer Shelbie Boyd said Sunday.

The man was taken to an area hospital, but he may have been transported by a private vehicle, she said.

Police do not have information on the suspect or a possible suspect vehicle, Boyd said.
