A 38-year-old Lacey man was killed Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash on state Route 507 near the city of Tenino, authorities said.

The man was traveling south on the highway in a Honda Civic when the vehicle went off the roadway to the left and struck a Chevrolet Silverado traveling in the opposite direction, according to the Washington State Patrol.

“Both vehicles left (the) roadway down an embankment,” the WSP said in a memo. “(The Civic) rolled onto its top.”

The crash, which totaled both vehicles, was reported shortly after 8:30 a.m. between Tenino and the unincorporated community of McIntosh, just east of Tenino. No other injuries were reported.

The identity of the victim, who was wearing his seat belt, wasn’t immediately released by the WSP, pending notification of his next of kin.

It’s unknown whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, the agency said.
