Pierce voters’ pamphlet makes no mention of these races. Here’s where to find them
If you live in Pierce County, you might have received a local voters’ pamphlet in the mail.
Pierce County’s pamphlet for the Nov. 5 General Election offers information about ballot measures and candidates, including those vying for county executive, sheriff and council.
Some voters might wonder why the guide doesn’t mention anyone running for Pierce County Superior Court judge, so The News Tribune contacted the county’s elections office to find out. The reason: Superior Court judges are state offices, so such candidates file with the state.
A fact sheet on the Secretary of State’s website shows that the Washington state voters’ pamphlet is set for residential delivery Oct. 7-12. The online Pierce edition of that pamphlet features 10 Pierce County Superior Court judge hopefuls:
- Position 1: TaTeasha Davis, Paul Robson
- Position 4: John Cummings, Rebecca K. Reeder
- Position 9: Doris Walkins, Scott Peters
- Position 10: Camille Schaefer, Philip Thornton
- Position 15: Ingrid McLeod, Brian Wasankari
Oct. 18 is the last day that ballots can be sent to voters through the mail, according to the Secretary of State’s website. The deadline to update your address or register online is Oct. 28.
You can register to vote in person through Election Day at the county’s elections office in Tacoma, 2501 S. 35th St., Suite C.
