The owner of a Lake Lawrence area home has been arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder, the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office announced Sunday afternoon.

The arrest was the result of a death investigation that began about 8 a.m. the same day.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence near Lake Lawrence on 153rd Avenue Southeast, and were told two people were inside the home, according to a news release.

Detectives entered the home and found an unresponsive man on the floor, but no other residents.

However, during their investigation they established probable cause to arrest the homeowner, although it wasn’t clear where they made that arrest.

Detectives also determined that the victim was from Pierce County and had been a guest in the home.

A cause of death was not disclosed.

Anyone with information about what happened is asked to contact detectives through the non-emergency dispatch line at 360-704-2740 or at detectives@co.thurston.wa.us.
