Interested in early holiday shopping? Here are 8 area stores with pre-Black Friday deals
Black Friday has been around for as long as we can remember, but it seems that in recent years, Black Friday shopping deals come earlier and earlier. This year is no different.
Traditionally, Black Friday is celebrated on the Friday after Thanksgiving, which is on the fourth Thursday of November. Usually, Black Friday goers line up outside of stores hours before they open their doors to take advantage of low prices for one day only.
This tradition has undergone many changes in recent years. Black Friday deals are no longer limited to just one day. Initially, stores offered Black Friday deals that stretched into the weekend after Thanksgiving, but lately Black Friday deals have been offered throughout much of November.
If you’re interested in getting in on the Black Friday deals, but you don’t want to deal with the crowds, then you’re in luck because several stores are offering pre-Black Friday deals.
The following stores are offering pre-Black Friday deals and have locations in Tacoma:
Target, 3320 S. 23rd St.
Target is offering Deal of the Day specials to Target Circle members through Dec. 24, along with early Black Friday deals.
Costco, 2219 S. 37th St.
Costco is offering several deals from now through Dec. 2. The early holidays saving sale started Nov. 1 and will end Nov. 17. After that sale, the retailer will have several in-store and online deals beginning Nov. 18 through Dec. 2, also known as Cyber Monday. Costco will begin its official Black Friday deals on Nov. 28.
Ulta, 4502 S. Steele St.
Ulta is offering up to 40% off on makeup, skincare, hair care and fragrances as part of their early Black Friday deals that end on Saturday, Nov. 23. These deals are valid in-store and online.
Walmart, 1965 S. Union Ave.
Walmart is having Black Friday deals now through Sunday, Nov. 17 and is offering up to 70% off on items.
JOANN’s, 4104 Tacoma Mall Blvd.
JOANN Fabric and Craft stores is having a “Before Black Friday” sale that ends Saturday, Nov. 16. Customers can save up to 70% on items during this sale.
Best Buy, 2214 S. 48th St.
Best Buy is currently having a “Black Friday Deals Right Now” sale that will end on Wednesday, Nov. 20. Their regular Black Friday deals will start on Nov. 21 and will end Nov. 30, before their Cyber Monday deals start on Dec. 1.
Macy’s, 4502 S. Steele St., Suite 700
Black Friday deals have already begun at Macy’s as a “preview,” and will end on Thursday, Nov. 28.
Nordstrom, 4502 S. Steele St., Suite 700
Nordstrom will begin having Black Friday deals starting on Nov. 21.
