Vehicle crashes into Gig Harbor marijuana shop, causing extensive damage, deputies say

A driver backed into the front of a Gig Harbor marijuana shop, causing extensive damage to the business, Pierce County deputies say.

Deputies were dispatched at 4:53 a.m. to a burglary alarm that went off at The Gallery located in the 14100 block of 92nd Avenue Northwest. Glass shards were littered around the Hyundai Sonata that was backed into the shop. No one was found inside the vehicle or business, Pierce County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sgt. Darren Moss wrote in an email.

The ATM machines that were inside were damaged and opened, but Moss said no money was taken. The business usually leaves the machines opened at night.

The Sonata has not been reported stolen, he said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Department or make an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
