A 62-year-old man was reported safely found early Thursday morning after he went missing Wednesday in Tacoma, leading to a search on the ground and from the skies.

The man’s daughter told Tacoma police that he had not been seen since shortly after 5 p.m. The call, from the 3900 block of South 17th Street, prompted a Silver Alert. The search was assisted by King County Sheriff’s Department’s Guardian One helicopter, which circled over parts of Tacoma for some time.

At about 1 a.m. Thursday, the man’s family reported that he had been found, Tacoma Police Department spokesperson detective William Muse said.
