A 21-year-old Puyallup man was injured Sunday morning after he crashed his Audi on southbound Interstate 5 near Longview, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Troopers say he was traveling at a “speed too fast for conditions.”

About 11:10 a.m., the man was headed south on I-5 in the center lane with a vehicle in front of him. Troopers say he crashed into the rear of that vehicle, which caused the other driver to lose control and crash into the freeway median. The Audi driver veered off the road and wound up 30 feet down an embankment, according to State Patrol.

The 21-year-old man was hurt and taken to PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center in Longview.

The other driver, a 50-year-old Eatonville man, was not hurt and neither were his two passengers, ages 22 and 46.
