One person dead, four displaced in Pierce County after flames engulf mobile home

A fire in Spanaway that engulfed a mobile home Tuesday night left one person dead.

Fire crews were dispatched at 10:53 p.m. to the fire in the 21800 block of 58th Avenue East. Crews found the fire had taken over the mobile home and spread to three RVs, according to Central Pierce Fire & Rescue on X. One person was possibly trapped inside, witnesses told firefighters.

“Lines were pulled and fire attack quickly initiated with some difficulty due to active downed powerlines and impinged propane tanks burning off fuel,” the post said.

Crews got the fire under control, the post said. One person was found dead.

The post said that the home is a total loss. Four people have been displaced.

The Pierce County Fire Marshal’s office is investigating.
