Woman on bicycle dies after being struck by car in South Tacoma area, police say

A woman on a bicycle died Saturday after a car hit her at the intersection of South 74th Street and South Wapato Street, according to Tacoma police.

A spokesperson with the Tacoma Fire Department told The News Tribune the incident happened at 11:05 a.m. and the woman was found dead at the scene.

The Tacoma Police Department’s spokesperson told The News Tribune that the car remained on the scene and the driver was not arrested.

TPD declined to give further information, but did confirm the woman was an adult.
