This Pierce County park playground is getting a $400K upgrade this year. Here’s where

The playground equipment at Chief Leschi Park in DuPont is getting a nearly $400,000 replacement, according to city documents.

On Tuesday night the DuPont City Council unanimously approved a $341,000 service agreement to purchase and install new playground equipment at the park in the Hoffman Hill neighborhood. Council member Kevin Ballard was excused from the meeting, and there was no further discussion.

In 2022 the council approved $400,000 to replace the aging playground, according to the council agenda.

Chief Leschi Park, 1755 Ridgeview Dr., has a basketball court, bike trail, climbing rocks, gardens, open turf area, picnic tables and walking paths that connect to the DuPont Trail system.
