Five people have been displaced after a duplex burned near Parkland Thursday morning.

Crews were dispatched at about 8:45 a.m. to the 400 block of 127th Street South for the fire. Central Pierce Fire & Rescue posted on X that both units of the duplex were destroyed.

The American Red Cross has been contacted to assist the displaced people, a CPFR spokesperson told The News Tribune.

There were no reported injuries.

The fire department and the Pierce County Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating the incident.
