Tacoma structural fire leaves resident with serious injuries and home at a total loss

A structural house fire in Tacoma that resulted in a person trapped inside was extinguished by Central Pierce Fire & Rescue Friday night, according to the department.

The fire occurred on the 15700 block of 82nd Avenue East in Tacoma and one person was pulled out of a window, according to Central Pierce Fire & Rescue. The person was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and their condition was unknown Saturday morning, said a public information officer with the department.

The home was reported a total loss and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Pierce County Fire Marshal, according to the department.
