Fire at Lakewood duplex leaves three displaced; cause under investigation
A fire at a Lakewood duplex displaced three individuals early Saturday morning.
West Pierce Fire & Rescue reported that around 12:30 a.m., crews responded to a fire at a duplex near 71st Avenue Court Southwest in Lakewood.
According to a social media post from the emergency operations crew, “Preliminary reports state the fire started in the backyard/back deck before it extended into the structure — impacting both units of the duplex.”
No injuries were reported, and the American Red Cross is helping the three adults displaced by the fire.
The fire’s cause is under investigation.
