The Meeker Days Festival returns this weekend in downtown Puyallup.

The festival is named for Ezra Meeker, Puyallup’s first mayor. The Meeker Days Festival started as a farmers market community gathering, Stacy Ringer, the event’s organizer, said. Now, 86 years later, the weekend-long event still honors Meeker and celebrates downtown Puyallup’s history.

The free event provides live entertainment, family-friendly activities and food vendors on Friday, June 13, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, June 15, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the area of Pioneer Park.

“Starting Thursday night, Meridian from Stewart to 4th Ave. in downtown will be closed,” according to a Facebook post by the City of Puyallup. “Side streets, including Pioneer, Main and Meeker will also be closed to vehicles while the festival is taking place.”

Roads will reopen to drivers on Sunday night.

Visitors can find street parking near the festival, use the Sound Transit parking lot and garage, or park in the lot near the Cornforth-Campbell auto shop.

Attendees can expect over 200 vendors, 60% returning from previous years and 40% new, Ringer said. The regular Saturday farmers’ market at Pioneer Park won’t happen this weekend, but flower vendors will be present, she said.

There is also a Corn Hole Classic, sponsored by Pierce Transit, happening throughout the weekend.

Meeker Days also has a live art competition. Adults can compete in the art battle on Saturday at 4 p.m., and kids can participate on Sunday at 10 a.m. Participants have 20 minutes to paint something in a given category. The audience will judge who wins.

Three stages throughout the festival are designated for entertainers, including an Elvis tribute artist and a Green Day tribute band. There will also be a car show and a beer garden.

The weather this weekend is expected to be the best it’s been during Meeker Days in five years, Ringer said.

Crews will close Meridian from Stewart to 4th Avenue starting at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2025, for the Meeker Days Festival in downtown Puyallup. They’ll reopen the street Sunday night.
