Update: 2-year-old girl found in Tacoma; Amber Alert canceled

The Tacoma Police Department is investigating the kidnapping of a two-year-old girl in Tacoma Saturday morning. An Amber Alert was issued and canceled hours later.

The two-year-old was kidnapped at a Wendy’s at 4112 South Steele Street around 9:10 a.m., according to the release. According to the Amber Alert, she was last seen walking on South Steele Street before a stranger male placed her in his vehicle and drove away towards 38th Street.

The Amber Alert was canceled at 12:38 p.m. and a Saturday afternoon TPD media release confirmed the two-year-old has been returned to her family unharmed. The suspect is currently detained and being questioned by detectives, according to the new release.

According to the release, the case remains active and ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 or contact TPD.
