Tacoma police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead Friday night in South End Tacoma, authorities said.

Officers were called to the 8800 block of Pacific Avenue just before 11 p.m. for reports of a possible shooting, according to the Tacoma Police Department.

“Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive adult male and immediately began life-saving measures,” TPD said in a news release early Saturday. “Tacoma Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the man deceased at the scene.”

Police offered no further details about the dead man’s age or identity. There were no suspects in custody and authorities are actively investigating the shooting as a homicide, police said.
