In Thurston County work will be done in Olympia on Interstate 5 between Pacific Avenue and 93rd Avenue (State Route 121). There will also be work in Tumwater on I-5 between 93rd Ave/SR 121 and Maytown Road, according to WSDOT.

The work is part of a $25.8 million highway preservation project.

“The new surface will reduce the potential for costly emergency maintenance repairs and unexpected lane closures,” according to WSDOT.

Crews will grind down the existing asphalt of lanes that need the most repair and after a curing time, they will return to install permanent lane markings.
