Pierce County drivers: Expect two weeks of delays during embankment work

Drivers traveling on state Route 302 in Wauna will experience traffic delays from Monday, Aug. 4, to Thursday, Aug. 14, according to a news release from the Washington State Department of Transportation.

Crews will be making improvements to an embankment near 118th Avenue Northwest.

“The work is being performed during the day for safety,” according to the news release.

Roadwork will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, the advisory states.

Day commuters can expect a delay of up to 15 minutes as crews work. The advisory asks that drivers plan ahead when traveling during the day, drive at the given speed limit and pay attention to their surroundings.
