A Bonney Lake man who was reported missing earlier this week has been found dead after an all-terrain vehicle accident, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office confirmed.

Ronald Roemer, 53, was last seen riding an ATV in the Tehaleh area on Thursday but was later found deceased after a search and rescue mission, according to the Sheriff’s office.

“Our thoughts go out to family and friends,” the Sheriff’s office posted in an update on Facebook.

Pierce County Sheriff Detective Joshua Mills told The News Tribune Saturday Roemer was riding with a friend, who returned home when he was having problems with his ATV. Roemer continued riding but never came home, Mills said. His mother called him in missing and the next day a search party found him just off the trail with the ATV on top of him, he said.
