An investigation is pending after the driver of a Chevrolet Tahoe crashed with a Pierce County Sheriff’s Office patrol car Wednesday afternoon.

The deputy was driving to a call at about 3 p.m. westbound through an intersection at 112th Street East and Golden Given Street East when the Chevrolet hit them. The driver of the Chevrolet was driving south, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office in a news release.

The patrol car rolled over on the passenger side, the release said. The driver was the only person in the Chevrolet.

No one was injured. The deputy was taken to a local hospital as a precaution and released with minor bumps and bruises, the release said.

The Sheriff’s Office will release more details about the crash once they are available.

“No fault was assigned as the traffic reconstructionist needs to complete the investigation,” according to a Sheriff’s Office spokesperson.
