White River Bridge closed indefinitely after crash caused significant damage
The White River Bridge on state Route 410 in the Buckley area remains closed after a semi-truck struck the structure Monday morning.
The crash reportedly caused significant damage to the structure of the bridge, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. No was one injured.
Detailed information about the extent of the damage or next steps will be provided by WSDOT after the damage is analyzed.
“A full closure is in place on both ends of the bridge, which means traffic, pedestrians and bicycles are not allowed. A signed detour is in place directing travelers around the closure using State Routes 164, 18, 167 and 410,” according to a WSDOT news release.
A detour can add up to 45 minutes of travel, the release said.
The bridge was built in 1949 and its last inspection was in April, the release said. The inspection determined the bridge was in fair condition.
