After soft opening in August, a massive new indoor trampoline and games park will celebrate its grand opening in Tacoma on Saturday, Sept. 6.

Inside Urban Air Adventure Park on Thursday, which is located at 1418 72nd St. E., kids jumped on huge trampolines, navigated an in-air ropes course and climbed around tubes in a colorful playground. The park has laser tag, bumper cars that flip and turn, a “Wipeout” style obstacle course, a virtual reality course, climbing walls and a cafe.

Urban Air Adventure Park is known for their private birthday parties and rentable tables, which are popular among school groups, sports teams, churches and camps, said Jackie Hoegger, who works for Urban Air’s marketing team. Attractions are advertised for kids ages 4 to 14, but parents end up playing just as much as the kids, she said with a laugh.

The park will be open seven days a week, Hoegger said. During the school year (from September to May) the hours are 4-8 p.m. On weekends the park is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Once the park has been open longer, the company will begin offering special programs like sensory days for autistic children and days for homeschooled children, Hoegger said.

On Saturday the first 200 visitors who purchase either the platinum or ultimate adventure passes will receive a voucher for a free deluxe pass, allowing them to access more of the attractions, for a whole year, Hoegger said. There will also be free donuts, balloon artists, face painters and a live DJ ringing in the opening, she said.

When asked why Urban Air Adventure Park wanted to come to the East Tacoma/Midland area, Hoegger said there was a “big void” in the market for this kind of family entertainment.

Prices are listed on Urban Air Adventure Park’s website, and day passes range from $14.99 to $36.99. Walk-ins and RSVPs are welcome, Hoegger said.
