Driver, 42, dead after her vehicle hits light pole in Pierce County

A 42-year-old woman died in a crash after her vehicle hit a light pole in Graham on Sunday night.

Officers were dispatched at about 10 p.m. near 84th Avenue East and 224th Street East for the wreck. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office in a Facebook post.

Witnesses told deputies they saw the vehicle going at high speed, and it did not appear it braked before the crash, the post said. The official cause of the crash is being investigated, but it is possible a medical emergency contributed to it.
