5 people displaced after two-story house fire in Parkland, firefighters say

A two-story house was engulfed in flames and smoke from a late-night fire Thursday in Parkland.

Crews were dispatched around 9:45 p.m. to the house in the 1900 block of Chesney Road East. Firefighters immediately began fire suppression efforts when they arrived, according to Central Pierce Fire & Rescue on X.

The fire was under control by 10:05 p.m.

Crews remained on the scene until the next morning just after 5 a.m., the post said.

Five people were displaced as well as three cats. No one was injured, the post said.

The Pierce County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.

“In total, 14 units responded — including 5 fire suppression units, 3 EMS units, and 6 command/support units,” according to the post.
