A person is dead after being hit by a train near Titlow Beach, according to Tacoma Fire Department Spokesperson Chelsea Shepherd.

The Tacoma Fire Department received a call at 5:29 p.m. regarding a person versus train collision at 6th Avenue and South Seashore Drive. Firefighters pronounced the victim deceased after arriving T the scene.

Tacoma Police Spokesperson Shelbie Boyd provided limited details on the incident Thursday night, saying only that BNSF Railway, the railroad that owns the line, called in the report. The victim has not been identified yet.
