Powerball ticket sold in Tacoma just misses jackpot — but still wins big

A Powerball ticket sold in Tacoma just missed the $633 million jackpot but still won big, according to state lottery officials.

The ticket won $50,000 in the drawing on Saturday, Nov. 22, a spokesperson for Washington’s Lottery told The News Tribune via email.

The winning Tacoma ticket matched four white balls and the red Powerball, according to the national Powerball website.

The winning Tacoma ticket was sold at a Chevron gas station at 4814 Center St., the lottery official said.

What were winning Powerball numbers?

The winning numbers in the Powerball drawing on Saturday, Nov. 22, were 28, 32, 36, 51 and 69, with a red Powerball of 2.

No one took home the jackpot, but tickets sold in Georgia and Oklahoma won $1 million each, the national Powerball website said.

A total of 17 tickets won $50,000 nationwide, including the Tacoma ticket, and two more won $100,000 thanks to a Power Play add-on, per the site.

The odds of winning the Powerball grand prize are 1 in 292,201,338, according to the Powerball website.

When is the next Powerball drawing?

The next Powerball drawing will be held at 7:59 pm Pacific Time on Monday, Nov. 24.

The Powerball jackpot is an estimated $654 million, with a cash value of $303.2 million, the Powerball website said.

Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, plus Washington, D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

“The jackpot is won by matching all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball,” according to the Powerball website, which noted that “the Powerball jackpot grows until it is won.”
