Looking for best holiday lights in Pierce County? Check out these festive spots
Looking for some festive fun to brighten up those dark December nights?
The News Tribune has put together a guide to holiday light displays around Pierce County, based on reader submissions, past News Tribune coverage and information from local organizations.
Some of the displays are at private homes, while others are at public venues. All aim to bring winter wonder to people in the greater Tacoma area.
Here’s our guide to Pierce County holiday lights in 2025:
Anderberg Christmas House
Where: 2019 South 10th St., Tacoma
When: Open 24 hours a day
The central Tacoma home is decked out with lights and inflatables. The festive display can be viewed 24 hours a day so long as weather permits.
See Fantasy Lights at Spanaway Park
Where: Spanaway Park, 1000 Military Road South, Spanaway
When: 5:30 to 9 p.m. daily, through Sunday, Jan. 4
Pierce County Park’s drive-through light display “is more than just a festive celebration — it’s a heartwarming community effort to spread joy and craft unforgettable memories,” the county said on its website.
The 2.2-mile route includes more than 300 animated displays and “countless twinkling lights” that “create an enchanting wonderland,” the website said.
Admission ranges from $10 to $20 per vehicle, depending on the date.
Buses with room for 25 passengers or more are $45.
Holiday Windows in the North End
Where: Various locations, North End of Tacoma
When: Decorated windows will be on display until Wednesday, Dec. 31
Organizers describe the holiday tradition in Tacoma’s North End as “a neighborhood advent calendar.”
“A new beautifully decorated window will be revealed at 6 p.m.” each night through Wednesday, Dec. 24, the holiday windows website said.
The window decorations will stay up until Wednesday, Dec. 31.
North Villard Street Home
Where: 3302 North Villard St., Tacoma
When: 6 to 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to midnight daily in December
The private home is awash in festive spirit, with inflatables, figurines and a 20-foot lighted tree made from a flagpole. Thousands of lights decorate the house and surrounding landscaping.
North Winnifred Street Home
Where: 5120 North Winnifred St., Ruston
When: 4:15 to 10 p.m. daily through December
The home in Ruston is glowing with bright holiday lights, a reader told The News Tribune.
Tacoma Light Trail
Where: Various locations, downtown Tacoma
When: 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, through Sunday, Jan. 11
Walk or drive the Tacoma Light Trail to see “dazzling light art,” the event website said. “A Sound Trail pairs music and poetry with each light location via QR code.”
There will be a celebration to kick off the free light trail on Wednesday, Dec. 31 at Tollefson Plaza.
Zoolights
Where: Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma
When: 4:30 to 10 p.m. through Sunday, Jan. 4 (Closed Wednesday, Dec. 24, and Thursday, Dec. 25)
The popular walk-through Zoolights event “has dazzled our community for 38 years,” Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium said on its website, noting that the attraction features more than 1.5 million lights.
“Aquariums are closed and animals are sleeping during Zoolights,” the website said.
Tickets cost $14 to $20, depending on the date.
Cooper Family Christmas Light Show
Where: 10017 East 40th Ave., Tacoma
When: 5 to 10 p.m. daily
The private home has more than 40,000 lights synced to music, with 60-plus options for songs, one of the organizers told The News Tribune.
