One dead, both sides of State Route 302 closed after two-car collision

Both sides of State Route 302 near 124th Street are blocked due to a two car collision that happened early Friday evening, Washington State Patrol Trooper Kameron Watts posted on X.

Two people involved in the crash were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, Watts posted. One was pronounced dead upon arrival. The status of the other person is unknown at this time.

The Washington Department of Transportation first reported the crash at 4:21 p.m. Traffic on State Route 302 extends from the Mason County line to the intersection at Wright Bliss Road.

The cause remains under investigation.
