A 14-year-old boy is in critical condition after being shot in a car near Tacoma’s Hillsdale neighborhood Friday afternoon, Tacoma Police Department Public Information Officer Shelbie Boyd told The News Tribune.

Officers received a 911 call just before 4 p.m. about a vehicle collision near East 62nd Street and McKinley Avenue, Boyd said. Upon arrival at the scene, they noticed an occupant with a gunshot wound.

The teenager was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Citing an ongoing investigation, Boyd did not provide details about the cause of the crash or shooting. No arrests were made.
