Associated Ministries has hired a new executive director to lead the ecumenical agency.
Mike Yoder will start the job Aug. 31, the Pierce County-based organization said in an email.
He comes from World Vision, where he most recently served as the marketing and events director for the Federal Way-based Christian humanitarian organization, according to his LinkedIn profile.
The Associated Ministries board said in January that the Rev. Chris Morton had left the executive director position after a six-year stint.
Board President Chris Gilbert said then that the decision for Morton to leave was a mutual one between him and the board, and was “about us going in two different directions.”
Chief Operating Officer Molly Archer served as interim director before Yoder’s appointment.
Associated Ministries provides emergency shelter, disaster assistance and domestic violence prevention training, among other community services.
It has a budget of $3.7 million and more than 200 member congregations, religious groups and interfaith partners.
