Person fell at area casino Saturday night and died, Tacoma fire official says

A person fell from an upper floor of the Emerald Queen Casino Saturday night and died at the scene, according to the Tacoma Fire Department.

About 9:20 p.m., Tacoma fire crews were dispatched to the 2900 block of East R Street after a report that a person had fallen through some glass, near some escalators, to the ground below, fire spokeswoman Chelsea Shepherd said.

The person was declared dead at the scene, she said.

Shepherd referred the News Tribune to Puyallup tribal police and the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office for all other details about the incident.

A contact at the tribal police office referred the newspaper to a spokesman who could not immediately be reached.
