Calling all “Stranger Things” fans! The popular Netflix show is coming to the big screen.
Select theaters across the United States are showing long-awaited series finale of “Stranger Things” on Wednesday, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
That includes several movie theaters in Washington state.

What is hit Netflix show ‘Stranger Things’?
Set in the 1980s in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, “Stranger Things” debuted on Netflix in July 2016.
Over the course of nine years, the series — which follows “a group of young friends (who) witness supernatural forces and secret government exploits,” according to IMDB.com — has grown into a cultural phenomenon.
“Stranger Things” has won a total of 12 Primetime Emmy Awards and turned cast members including Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard and Gaten Matarazzo into stars.
The show’s fifth and final season finds the group facing its final biggest battle yet.
“Our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna,” a humanoid being with psychic powers, the official show description on Netflix’s website reads. “But he has vanished — his whereabouts and plans unknown. The final battle is looming — and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they’ve faced before.
“To end this nightmare, they’ll need everyone — the full party — standing together, one last time.”
When will ‘Stranger Things’ final episode be released?
Netflix has split the fifth season of “Stranger Things” into multiple volumes, each with its own release date.
The first four episodes were released on Nov. 26, while three more episodes will be released on Christmas Day, Thursday, Dec. 25.
The series finale will premiere on Netflix at 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve — Wednesday, Dec. 31 — the same day it screens in theaters.
Where can I watch ‘Stranger Things 5: The Finale’ in theaters?
In Washington, select AMC Theatres locations will screen “Stranger Things: The Finale” on Wednesday, Dec. 31 and Thursday, Jan. 1.
Participating theaters include:

- AMC Pacific Place 11. 600 Pine St., Suite 400, in Seattle
- AMC Southcenter, 3600 Southcenter Mall in Tukwila
“A $20 prepaid Food & Drinks credit will be added to your cart for each ticket,” AMC Theatres said on its website.
Where can I see ‘Stranger Things’ finale near Tacoma?
Select Cinemark Theaters locations will show the series finale of “Stranger Things” on Wednesday, Dec. 31, and Thursday, Jan. 1.
These theaters are offering multiple showtimes:

- Cinema Lincoln Square Cinemas, 700 Northeast Bellevue Way, No. 310, in Bellevue
Moviegoers can reserve their seats by purchasing $20 snack vouchers.

Regal Cinemas locations in Washington will also screen “Stranger Things 5: The Finale” on Wednesday and Thursday.
