A car crashed into the storefront of Jet’s Pizza in Tacoma on Sunday afternoon, police confirmed Monday.

Ben Greene, one of the owners of Jet’s Pizza, said the crash happened around 4 p.m.

Police received a call about the crash at 4:18 p.m., according to Sgt. John Correa. Police took the driver into custody for driving under the influence, Correa said.

No one was injured, but the driver was taken to the hospital as a precaution, Correa said.

The driver’s name will not be released at this time.

There’s no timeline for when Jet’s Pizza will reopen, but Greene said they’re hoping to re-open as soon as possible.

Jet’s Pizza, a national chain serving Detroit-style square pies, opened in Tacoma in July at 4125 B 49th Ave. NE.
