An Eatonville woman has died after being involved in a two-car crash at the end of last year.

The 80-year-old woman was driving her 2003 Subaru Forester on southbound state Route 161 near 418 Street East on Dec. 30. A 24-year-old Eatonville woman was driving her 2026 Honda CR-V in the northbound lane at the same time. At one point, the Subaru entered the northbound lane and struck the Honda at around 2:19 p.m., according to a Washington State Patrol news release.

Both vehicles came to a stop. The 80-year-old woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where she died on Monday, the release said. The woman was identified as Carol L. Resnick.

The 24-year-old woman was injured and transported herself to a hospital. The release said that Resnick was not wearing a seatbelt.

Both vehicles were totaled. The release said it is unknown if drugs or alcohol was involved. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
