Emergency crews were called to the scene around 10:25 a.m., and treated one of the injured individuals at the scene; another was hospitalized.

The third person at the house escaped uninjured. According to Shepherd, the occupants escaped out the front door of the two-story home.
Just before noon Monday, firefighters were still on scene putting out hot spots in the home’s attic.

Earlier Monday, a duplex fire broke out just before 2 a.m. in the 4300 block of 67th Ave. West. The fire was blamed in a preliminary investigation on possible faulty wiring in a lamp. The unit was unoccupied at the time.
