Rally against Trump to take place in downtown Tacoma. Here are the details

A rally and march against Donald Trump is set to take place in downtown Tacoma on Saturday, Jan. 24 — about one year after his inauguration as the 47th president of the United States.

The event will take place at 1 p.m. at Fireman’s Park, 801 A St., with support from groups including the Climate Alliance of the South Sound, the Tacoma Democratic Socialists of America, Jewish Voice for Peace and Indivisible Tacoma, according to a poster for the event. A number of anti-Trump demonstrations have taken place in Tacoma since his inauguration.

Saturday’s event comes amid a federal immigration crackdown and fallout after a federal immigration agent shot and killed a woman in Minnesota.

“It’s past time for all organizations who oppose this administration to stand together as a united front,” Indivisible Tacoma wrote on Instagram. “We are marching for justice this month in a family friendly demonstration of resistance.”
