Bicyclist dead after collision with vehicle on State Route 702
A bicycle-car collision on State Route 702 near Yelm killed a biking pedestrian Thursday evening, State Trooper Kameron Watts posted on X.
Despite lifesaving efforts, the person riding the bicycle was pronounced dead on the scene, the post said. The collision was first reported at 6:37 p.m. by the Washington Department of Transportation.
Eastbound and westbound traffic on SR-702 just west of State Route 507 is blocked by the collision. There is no traffic diversion to get past the scene.
Authorities encourage drivers to avoid the area.
