ICE protest to take place outside Tacoma’s union station. Details here
Another protest against federal immigration authorities is set to take place on Saturday, Jan. 31 at Tacoma’s Union Station.
Activists with the group Tesla Takedown, a protest movement that targets Tesla and its CEO Elon Musk, appear to be organizing the event. The protest will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at 1717 Pacific Ave.
The protest is one of several that have taken place in and around Tacoma this month since ICE officers shot and killed two people in Minnesota: Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
“Alex Pretti and Renee Good deserve justice and we won’t stand silently while their murders are covered up,” organizers wrote online. “Join our protest in honor of Alex and Renee and in solidarity with immigrant communities across the United States.”
Over a thousand people showed up to downtown Tacoma on the week that marked the one-year anniversary of the start of President Donald Trump’s term, and hundreds of protestors blocked traffic outside Tacoma city hall earlier this week to rally against ICE.
