A 21-year-old man died from an apparent road rage incident in unincorporated Pierce County Friday night, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.

At 10:16 p.m., deputies received notification of a single-vehicle collision into a tree on the 16100 block of Military Road East, the department shared on Facebook. Passersby and deputies removed the man from the car. He had a gunshot wound. Lifesaving measures failed. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

The preliminary investigation appears to be a road rage incident that occurred on 22nd Avenue East, the post read. There are no suspects in custody at this time.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information on the incident to contact the department.
