Man’s death under investigation as a homicide, Tacoma police say
A man was found dead Sunday morning, and now his death is being investigated as a homicide, the Tacoma Police Department announced.
The man suffered a gunshot wound, Officer Shelbie Boyd said in an update Sunday afternoon.
The man’s age wasn’t immediately known, she said.
About 9:40 a.m., police were dispatched to the 1200 block of South I Street after a report of an unresponsive male. Police and the Tacoma Fire Department arrived at that location and then fire crews pronounced the victim deceased at the scene, according to a news release.
“Detectives and Crime Scene Technicians are actively investigating this incident as a homicide,” the release reads.
Anyone with information or video of the incident is asked to call 911, Boyd said.
