Contractors find bones on work site in Tacoma, police say

Bones found at a work site Thursday afternoon were sent to the state’s anthropologist for review, Tacoma police say.

Contractors digging at the site in the 8200 block of South Bell Street found bones and reported the finding to police. A medicolegal investigator was called to the scene and collected samples, Tacoma Police Department spokesperson officer Shelbie Boyd told The News Tribune.

The investigator took the sample to the state’s anthropologist, who will determine if they belonged to a human.
