A 57-year-old Puyallup man, suspected of driving under the influence, triggered a two-car wreck on state Route 167 Saturday night, according to the Washington State Patrol.

About 11:10 p.m., the Puyallup man was headed north on SR 167 at 76th Avenue East when troopers say he crossed into the southbound lanes and crashed into a 21-year-old Puyallup woman.

Both vehicles came to a stop in the southbound lanes, according to the State Patrol. The two drivers also were hurt and taken to Tacoma General Hospital.

Following the crash, the road was blocked for nearly five hours, according to the State Patrol.
