Crash in Tacoma leaves 1 injured, power lines hovering over roadway
A roadway in Tacoma will be blocked off the rest of the day Wednesday after a car struck a utility pole.
Firefighters and police were dispatched at 1 p.m. to North Narrows Drive and Bridgeview Drive, according to PulsePoint.
At least one person was transported to a hospital, Tacoma Fire Department Battalion Chief Ryan Anderson told The News Tribune at the scene.
The driver of the car might have lost consciousness prior to the crash after suffering a possible medical emergency, Tacoma Police Department Sgt. John Correa told The News Tribune Thursday morning.
The driver reportedly had minor injuries.
Anderson said he did not know the cause of the crash or which way the driver was going.
Tacoma Power Utilities crews were on scene because the utility pole was leaning, which caused the power lines to hover over the roadway.
Anderson said public works crews will be on scene all day and put in barricades to block off the road starting from North Narrows Drive and North 23rd Street.
The car that struck the pole was towed from the scene.
