A crash involving a vehicle and pedestrian left a woman dead Friday morning in Fife.

Officers were dispatched at around 5:40 a.m. to the 4400 block of Pacific Highway after a man driving a vehicle struck the woman, who was walking on the roadway. The woman reportedly died at the scene, Fife Police Department’s assistant chief David Claridge told The News Tribune.

Claridge said he did not have information on what led up to the crash. There is no crosswalk where the incident occurred. The driver stayed at the scene.

Claridge said it is not clear if the driver was impaired, and he did not have information about whether the driver was cited or arrested.
