2 Pierce County residents hurt in Friday wreck on southbound I-5, WSP says
Two DuPont residents, both 46, were injured Friday afternoon in a wreck on southbound Interstate 5 in Clark County, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The man and woman were taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver for their injuries. A 15-year-old female passenger in the same vehicle was not hurt, according to the State Patrol.
About 4 p.m., the DuPont driver was one of three who slowed for traffic in the area.
Troopers say a fourth driver, a 73-year-old Vancouver woman, who was traveling at a “speed too fast for conditions,” crashed into them and triggered the four-car wreck.
She is suspected of driving under the influence, two counts of vehicular assault and reckless endangerment.
The other drivers and passengers from Kelso and Happy Valley, Oregon, were not hurt, according to the State Patrol.
