Puyallup motorcyclist hospitalized after flying off overpass in Seattle

A Puyallup motorcyclist was injured Sunday after crashing in Seattle.

The 25-year-old man was riding his motorcycle on Interstate 5 northbound near Albro Place when he failed to negotiate the exit ramp. He was thrown over the barrier and off the overpass at around 12:50 p.m, according to a Washington State Patrol news release.

His motorcycle came to a rest on the exit ramp. The roadway was closed for an hour and 12 minutes, the release said.

The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center for his injuries. He was wearing a helmet, according to the release.

The release said speed was a cause in the crash. Drugs and alcohol were not involved.
