2 dogs killed, 1 person injured when fire engulfs Pierce County mobile home

Fire engulfed a mobile home in Parkland early Thursday morning.

Firefighters were dispatched at 12:47 a.m. in the 100 block of 136th Street South , according to Brianna Stenstrom, spokesperson for Central Pierce Fire & Rescue via email.

“Crews stretched hose lines for a defensive fire attack (suppressing the fire from the exterior),” she wrote.

The fire was under control around 2 a.m. and the last of the 17 fire units cleared the scene at 3:20 a.m.

Two dogs died in the home. One person was taken to a hospital with burn injuries, Stenstrom said.

The Pierce County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
