A dozen ‘No Kings’ protests are scheduled around Pierce County this month
Several “No Kings” protests are scheduled to take place later this month in and around Pierce County. The movement previously has held protests and demonstrations across the country against President Donald Trump and his administration.
The protests on March 28 are scheduled to take place at three locations in Tacoma: Point Defiance, Wright Park and downtown Tacoma’s Union Station, according to the No Kings website. No Kings protests previously have taken place at Point Defiance Park and People’s Park, drawing hundreds of protestors and local leaders to speak, including former Washington governor Jay Inslee and Pierce County Executive Ryan Mello.
The events on March 28 will be “the largest nonviolent protest in American history,” the website states.
“As President Trump escalates his attempts to control us, it is on us, the people, to show that we will fight to protect one another and our country,” the No Kings website states.
Protests are also scheduled to take place on the same date in Lakewood, Enumclaw, Bonney Lake, Puyallup, Milton, Gig Harbor and the Key Peninsula. In Thurston County, protests are scheduled for Olympia and Yelm.
Each protest is scheduled for a different time, with start times ranging from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visit nokings.org to learn more.
