The master planned community of Tehaleh near Bonney Lake is progressing with both industrial and retail components of the site.
Tall Firs Industrial Park, first announced by Brookfield Properties and Panattoni Development in 2024, saw its first completed building last year, at 130,000 square feet.
Now, the community is gearing up for development of a town center, complete with grocery and retail as a new clubhouse is under construction.
Town center
According to emailed responses to questions from The News Tribune, Brookfield Properties representatives said, “We are currently reviewing concepts with a commercial developer for a future 150,000- to 200,000-square-foot town center featuring a grocery store anchor, restaurants, retail, coffee, daily conveniences and gathering space for events.”
The town center site is at the intersection of Cascadia and Tehaleh boulevards, close to Tall Firs.
Scott Jones is senior vice president of operations for Brookfield Residential, which manages Tehaleh. He told The News Tribune in a statement, “Tehaleh’s commercial opportunities are decidedly different as we offer shovel-ready sites at an unmatched scale paired with a tremendous quality of life due to 1,800 acres of open space, almost 50 miles of trails, 17 unique parks — including a dog park and mountain bike park — and, of course, unparalleled views of Mt. Rainier.”
Industrial park update
Tall Firs is currently being marketed for sale or lease, as reported earlier this month by the Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce.
In response to questions from The News Tribune, Brookfrield officials said no construction date is set for a second building planned for the industrial park, which is on 170th Avenue East.
The site can accommodate “a variety of uses with potential examples being light manufacturing, product assembly, contractor workshop or research and development,” according to responses submitted via email from Brookfield representatives to The News Tribune.
